Emily Frost produces content and works on digital projects for the Smithsonian (that’s the one in Washington, DC with 21 museums, a zoo, and research centers around the world).
Previously, she was Managing Editor at the Smithsonian’s Ocean Portal website as well as Web Content Manager for the National Museum of Natural History.
She works at the intersection of museums, science, and communications with a focus on digital projects. Her background in managing websites and science communications comes from 15 years of work, from Oceana, to the Pew Charitable Trusts’ Ocean Science Division and the Smithsonian.
An avid diver, Emily enjoys getting out of her Washington, D.C. cubicle whenever she can. Her favorite dive spots include the Channel Islands off of Southern California, St. John, USVI, and Indonesia. She also sailed 3,000 miles on a 134-foot tall ship while conducting science and maintaining course via celestial navigation with the Sea Education Association. On an average day, you can find her biking, running, reading a good book, and exploring the city with her son.
The nudibranch is by far her favorite animal.
